Hadn’t added info in a long time to my art blogg due to hassle with PW and having to re-enter a diff PW when switching over to gmail or my poetry blogg – so here I am starting out with a NEW blogg.  also the old 11 year-old Dell – RIP was snail slow, took up to 45 minutes of figiting to get online…

So here I am – going to play catch up… where to start! Exhibits since March – busy year so far…

2011 Chair Affair  Prepared a  child’s rocking chair for the annual Fundraiser for NW Furniture Bank came out wonderful – if I do say so myself… The silent and regular auction was held at the Tacoma Glass Museum on Tuesday March 8th, 2011 from 6 to 9pm. It was a very nice reception and the chairs were so interesting. The chairs provide funding for : The NW Furniture Banks mission is to help restore hope, dignity, and stability in our community by recycling donated furniture to people in need. To date they have helped over 1,400 families and work with over 70 Pierce county agencies.

I had five mini collages accepted for this exhibit. “The Answer” – What is the answer? For that matter, what is the question? This show will present art which addresses this conundrum from each artist’s unique perspective. Great Ostrich Egg Off – Metro Parks, Tacoma WA   My entry – Three Sprites. The majority of the eggs were on display at the Wright Park Conservatory starting April 19th through May 4th. Please note that due to environmental concerns, some eggs that
include materials that are not conducive to the warm, humid conditions of the conservatory will be on display elsewhere so as not to damage the artwork.  Mine was on display at the Norpoint Spring Celebration, from April 23rd (from 11:00 am to
1:00 pm) and People’s Community Center (Open Mon-Fri from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and Sat from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm) from April 25th through May 4th.

2011 Artist Garage Sale!! was held on Saturday May 21 from 10 to 3pm at the Armory. POSSCA did request a $1/visitor at the door as a donation to POSSCA [Patrons of South Sound Cultural Arts] to help art/music ed. I did sell 5 pieces at extremely low prices. The annual Seattle Turtle Show is put on by the Seattle Turtle and Tortoise Club. The show features many live turtles,
displays, and slide shows. You will have the opportunity to get to know the turtles and speak with their keepers. Staff will be on hand to answer all your turtle questions on many subjects such as pet turtle care, turtle breeding and conservation, and turtle rescue.
